KUALA LUMPUR, ( Feb) – Kelantan will creates its own history when the State Government together with Nisa’ Malaysia (Women Malaysia) and Kota Bharu The Islamic City Municipal Council organise Malaysia Women Games. It gathers women all over the country at Sultan Mohamad IV Stadium, Kota Bharu on the 17 and 18 of February 2007.
The biggest programme handle by Kelantan State Government as in honour of Visit Malaysia Year 2007 will expose Asia gold cup bearer 200 metre sprinter from Bahrain, Ruqaya Al Ghasara (picture)
Ruqaya will attend the opening ceremony which will accomplish by Kelantan Menteri Besar, Dato’ Nik Abdul Aziz bin Nik Mat on the 17 of February 2007.
“I hope Ruqaya image will bring new inspiration to the Muslim young women in this country who interested in sports and at the same time practice the Islamic code of dressing,” said Takiyudin Hassan, The Chairman of The Committee of Local Government, Housing and Health at a press conference here .
Also attended at the press conference were The Chairman of The Committee of Women Development, Youth and Sport, Abdul Patah Mahmood, Director of Nisa’ Malaysia, Mastura Mohammad, nasyid group In-team, Akhbar and Muadz.
“Ruqaya proved that Muslim women can forge in sport and Islam never prohibit sport because it is good for health,” added Takiyuddin.
Nisa’ Games fully handle-up by women in terms of jurisdiction experts and also technically skill from sport clubs and other institutions. The five categories chosen to be competed are futsal, badminton, netball, bowling and volley ball.
